The 5 Reasons the Latest Diet Doesn't Work
๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ฒ๐๐ปโ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐๐ปโฃ (and why we don't follow any specific diet plan...) โฃ I (Alexis) started my weight loss journey probably 5 times before one actually became my true story. I would try something, stop. Try something else, mess up and stop. It was a perpetual cycle that got me going nowhere fast. Diet after diet, plan after planโnot one of them stuck-why? โฃ โฃ 1. ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ป๐ผ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ๐โthis is something I truly donโt understand from a nutritional science perspective. Every food has value. It doesnโt matter how โcleanโ it is or how nutrient dense, it still has calories, and macronutrients, that enter your body. Bananas, for example, are great but 2 medium bananas a day is about 270 calories and about 70g of carbs ๐ณ thatโs all well and good if you are accounting for it but can make a big difference in whether or not the scale moves. โฃ โฃ 2. ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ฎ ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฎ๐บ๐ผ๐๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐/๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ธ๐โ so you do a 21 day challenge, a 30 day plan or whatever it may be. Whatโs the first thing you do on that 22nd, 31st or next day? Tell yourself youโre done. If youโve reached your goals, okay ๐๐ป time to set a new one but, why are you going to demolish all the work you just put in? Body composition (whatever the goal) is an ongoing process that doesnโt really fall into a specific time constraint. โฃThat being said, challenges can be a helpful kick in the pants for some people but recognize that it's completion doesn't mean the end for you! โฃ 3. ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ ๐ด๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ ๐๐ป๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐โ โKaren lost 20lbs in 30 days following our program!โ Good for Karen. Thatโs an immense, unrealistic amount of weight that they put into someoneโs head. It may happen-if you starve yourself and eat weird things but that doesnโt mean itโs good for you, that you should do it or that it helps you AT ALL for long term success. As well, you donโt lose 20lbs in 30 days because thatโs stupid and now you feel bad about yourself. Not worth it ๐ ๐ปโโ๏ธโฃ โฃ 4. ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐ฌ-๐ญ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ถ๐บ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ปโ๐ ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฝ ๐๐ฝ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ถ๐ โwhatever it is, itโs something different than youโre doing now or you wouldnโt have even considered it. Whether itโs eating different foods, planning more/differently, timing your mealsโthe demands will catch up quick and it will get old fast. One thing from before diet will creep in and the towel gets thrown in because itโs ruined. โฃ โฃ 5. ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ปโ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ ๐๐ฝ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐๐ โat a birthday party with Grandma Addies chocolate cake? You bet you should enjoy that once a year treat (if you really enjoy it!). Out to dinner and thereโs bread on the table? Donโt watch everyone else gobble it down while you slice your tomato on your plate. In the scheme of things, your life matters first and foremost. There are times where goals come first but, that shouldnโt be 24/7/365. โฃ โฃ You can live a life of moderation, not deprivation, while still reaching your goals. โฃ Tell us-whatโs the most ridiculous diet you've ever done?
